ArtCenter/South Florida Print Shop Residency

ArtCenter/South Florida’s PRINTshop Residency is ideal for artists who are committed to experimentation and innovation and seek artistic & professional development. The selected artist will have the opportunity to be a part of and contribute to a dynamic community of local, national and international artists and creative thinkers. Located in the heart of South Beach on Lincoln Road, ArtCenter offers a unique residency experience in an urban setting. The PRINTshop residency offers opportunities for engagement and cross-cultural exchange with South Florida-based artists and audiences.

The PRINTshop Resident Artist will activate ArtCenter’s printmaking facility, a 1500 sq. ft., communal space. The studio is equipped with an 18” x 24” Charles Brand press, screen printing exposure unit, washout room, glass plated tables for monotypes, carving tools and more. The aim of The PRINTshop Resident Artist will be to increase community accessibility by extending lab hours, offering classes, workshops and free demos.


• 24/7 access to and use of ArtCenter’s PRINTshop.
• A monthly stipend of $1,000 for the one-year term and materials for lab.
• Exhibition opportunities.
• Studio visits with renowned local and national curators.
• Wi-Fi access.
• Interaction with ArtCenter artists working on-site including visiting artists.
• Access to benefits of ArtCenter’s Alumni Network after the completion of the residency.

The PRINTshop resident commits to a minimum of 10 hours per week in order to:

• Oversee the care and maintenance of the PRINTshop space and equipment.
• Teach two three-hour workshops during the term of the residency.
• Maintain a set open lab schedule, twice a month, to accommodate ArtCenter residents, visiting artists, ArtCenter students and the general public. (4 hours per session)
• Participate in Resident Night held on the first Wednesday of every other month.
• Participate in other ArtCenter mentorship opportunities.


• Working, professional artists with a deep commitment to printmaking
• Prior teaching experience is a plus
• Artists currently not enrolled in an academic program.

• Potential to further develop an innovative creative practice and impact the community


• ArtCenter staff will first review applications to ensure completion and eligibility
• Submissions are reviewed by a 5-member Artist Review Committee comprised of knowledgeable and esteemed artists and art professionals
• The Committee evaluates each artist’s materials and selects finalists
• Finalists are invited for an in-person, phone, or video conference interview to determine final selections
